About

Vantage, published by the California-based non-profit Center for Emerging Journalism 501(c)(3), is a magazine of criticism and analysis. Vantage is a magazine of criticism and analysis published by the California-based nonprofit Center for Emerging Journalism (a 501(c)(3)). Our editorial headquarters sit in San Francisco, though Vantage contributors hail from dozens of cities in the United States and abroad, including Spain, Canada, Italy, and the United Kingdom.

We empower the voices of student and early career writers and journalists, giving emerging voices the reporting, editorial backing, and platform to publish with force and ambition.

Vantage is funded as a nonprofit and exists in the public interest. We are accountable to our readers, our contributors, and the ideas we publish. If you are looking for a magazine that takes argument seriously, that treats emerging voices as assets rather than ornaments, and that prefers thinking to posturing, you are in the right place.

“Ideas are best sharpened in public.”
